SRT-2104

Pharmacology

SRT-2104 is a small-molecule activator of SIRT1. It is being researched for longevity and lifespan enhancement.

Apart from lifespan, it has also been researched for diabetes [2], osteoarthritis [1] and cognition [3].

SIRT1 Activation may be antidepressant and/or procognitive:

We show that ablation of SIRT1 in cortical and hippocampal glutamatergic neurons results in depression-like behaviors in male but not in female mice. [3]

SRT-2104 was well tolerated in phase II trials [2], but was discontinued due to efficacy in diabetes, however it still may have implications for human lifespan.
