mGluR4

Pathway Information

Metabotropic glutamate receptor 4 (mGluR4/mGlu4) is part of a larger family of eight metabotropic receptors mGluR1-8 [1]. These eight receptors are classed generically into three groups, however the groups are not indicative of similar function (as discussed later). mGluR4 is part of "Group III" alongside mGluR6, mGluR7, and mGluR8.

Generally, less is known about mGluR4 compared to, for example, Group II mGluRs.

Cinnabarinic acid (CA) is a kynurenine metabolite that activates mGlu4 metabotropic glutamate receptors.
